Through optimal use of this information, it is possible to conduct more precise reliability and maintainability analyses, supported by measurable data. It permits a better understanding and representation of the behaviour of the business’s critical equipment, taking into account the impact of the efficiency of maintenance activities. As a result, it improves decision making in the selection of major investment projects required for better reliability and availability.
In addition, PBM approach allows to perform all analyses at the equipment component level, allowing a better understanding of their behaviour and to adjust value-added maintenance schedules accordingly.
